I recently was going through Aljazeera’s People and Power documentaries, I saw a documentary with the title “The Green Lake”. My first thought was environmental conservation that has lead to the lake being called Green, but on the contrary the lake Known as Lake Koka is green because of a poisonous Algae. The algae has so far killed many people without the government intervention. The people living around have no other alternatives to drinking water.
Europe never runs short of clean water unless the Alps have not had sufficient snow. In reference to Germany and Italy, I have noted that they have clean tapped water on almost all parts of the country, this is especially so when it comes to Germany. I find it hard to understand why they buy bottled water when the tap water is very same for human consumption.
The tap water is for cleaning and cooking purposes,yet for relaxation they fill bathtubs with water to the brim. Not that a shower wouldn’t make them clean enough. This water that ends up down the drain, would be enough to sufficiently give about 5 African households water to cook and drink. I am saddened when I think we live on the same Earth but don’t have the same chance of survival. On this Video, it is partly the Multinational companies in Ethiopia and mostly the Government of Ethiopia that is to blame for lack of water to the inhabitants living around Lake Koka.
I keep asking myself when this act will go away from the continent of Africa. Although I do know it is done in Islam religion I would wish to restrict my thoughts in what I know best, FGM in Africa. My mother was a ‘circumcised’ woman. Read more…

Parents are giving their children everything they ask for in Europe and North America, such that if a child doesn’t own the latest gadgets of videos games or own a television in their rooms, they cause terror on already fearful parents.
Most parents are already so scared that their children will hate them because they are not there all the time when they should be, that they constantly give in to all their demands, in hope this will stop them from hating them. Jessie did her HIV/Aids test, she was positive and I must say that in the months that followed I never saw someone frail out so easily.
